FAQ's

Q:   What does it mean when there is a yellow light flashing on the mover PCB?
A:   If the yellow light is flashing, the leisure battery in the van is low.

Q:   Why is my mover handset not working?
A:
All mover handsets have a safety feature on them.  If they are not used for 45 seconds, then they turn themselves off.  Simply turn it off and then back on and it should re-align itself with the PCB.  If this does not work, check the batteries in the handset are not flat.

Q:   Do I have to have a pneumatic jockey wheel?
A:   It is advantageous to have a pneumatic jockey wheel.  They have better grip on grass and on stone, and it will not dig in to the ground when moving the van.

Q:   Is it safe to cover the mover PCB?
A:
It is safe to cover the mover PCB if it is the original mover, the euro mover or the twin mover.  It is advisable to put, for example, a dish over the top of it so it has room around it.

On the mover S, mover SE and mover TE, under no circumstances must it be covered.  It has an external radiator which can get warm and if covered it could cause the plastic to melt.

Q:   Does the caravan mover lower the ground clearance of the van?
A:
Yes, it lowers the ground clearance by 50mm (around 2 inches).

Q:   Can I use the extension bar (telescopic bar) as a jacking point?
A:
No.  It would damage the mover and the caravan.  So under no circumstances must this be done.

Q:   Are the rollers on the Mover S, Mover SE and Mover TE guaranteed for the lifetime of the van?
A:
Under normal circumstances, the rollers should last for 10 to 15 years.  The new rollers are aluminium and not grit like the original caravan movers.  The Truma caravan mover warranty is for 2 years.

Q:   If the caravan mover fails when the rollers are engaged, can you manually over-ride it?
A:
This applies to the mover SE and the mover TE.  Yes, you can.  You will get a release key with the caravan mover that can be used if the rollers get stuck on the wheels and will not move.

Q:   Why won't the handset turn on?
A:   On the original caravan movers, you have to double click the red button within a second for the handset to turn on.  If you don't do it within a second, the handset will not turn on.
