He gave me a courtesy call yesterday to confirm his attendance and then called again today to advise he would arrive in approximately half and hour. He then arrived on time, was very friendly, did an excellent job of installing my new mover (even though it was absolutely throwing it down with rain and he was fitting the mover in the middle of a field with no shelter) and even cleared up taking all the packaging away with him. | July 2008 | Dear Sir/Madam, I arranged with CMI for a Truma Caravan Mover to be installed in June 2008 which was carried out by one of your excellent fitters. He arrived on time and fitted it within the timescale quoted over the phone. He was courteous and professional and was a really nice guy. He demonstrated the kit on the road adjacent to our home which impressed me. The reason for me wanting a motor mover fitting was that on 8th May I suffered a cardiac arrest, and I was told never to push a car or caravan again in my life. As keen caravanners for many years, this was devastating news. We have just returned from a great fortnight in Devon having made eight separate manoeuvres using the mover. It is an absolute godsend, as it means we can still use the caravan. Medical condition apart, I wish we had one of these twenty five years ago. Searching through the various companies who supply these units I am certain that I made the right choice by using CMI and I would not hesitate in recommending your company to anyone. He phoned to let me know he might be delayed and, on arrival, set to work immediately. Once the installation was complete he spent time explaining how the mover worked and gave me a demonstration. He didn't start packing up until he was sure I was au fait with the safe operation of the mover. John also gave me tips on how to clean and care for the mover, excellent. I would like to share my experience of your motor mover, and congratulate your company on the production of such a quality product. We have enjoyed the ability to site the caravan in order to enjoy the best views or position without any physical effort. The mover has also enabled us to hook up to the car on some very muddy and slippery sites, where even Land Rovers were failing! This letter is prompted by our recent experience in Norway, when we were overtaken by a blizzard whilst climbing a pass on our way to North Cape,some 300 miles North of the Arctic Circle. The caravan was hit by a gust of wind, went into a snake and I just managed to keep control, but finished up with the outfit across the road, and total loss of traction. People stopped to help, but advised that we should turn back, as conditions were worsening.
The road by now was very icy, narrow, with a steep bank on both sides and if I went off the road the outfit would almost certainly have turned over. I was concerned that as soon as I detached the caravan from the car it would go out of control, so I decided to try the motor mover. It was completely iced up, and covered in snow, so my first concern was whether the drive would engage or not, it did with no hesitation at all, so when I released the caravan from the car I was delighted to find that I had total control and was able to turn the caravan through a full 180 degrees and position it ready to hook up again. Without the caravan to pull it was relatively easy to turn the car and move it to a position where I could use the mover to hook up the caravan, and we were able to go back down the pass and out of the problem area without incident.
We really enjoyed our holiday, which could have turned into a nightmare without the Motor Mover, and I am sure that the quality of your engineering allowed it to work under the arduous conditions.
Thanks again for an excellent product which has added a new dimension to our 40 years of caravanning. |

I recently purchased a new van at the February NEC show and decided rather than get the old mover transferred, move with the times, and have one of the NEW GENERATION Truma movers fitted. I feel that I must write to you in appreciation. Seldom in this day and age does one find service of a level which I have experienced from my initial enquiries to the subsequent fitting of the mover. Sales staff were able to answer all my enquiries about which model to have, and the fitter advised me the night before of his estimated time of arrival and again telephoned when 45 minutes away from the site where our van is stored. During the fitting I was advised of what was involved, ensuring that I was fully conversant with the operating procedures before leaving the site. Throughout the whole time the fitter remained knowledgeable and thoroughly pleasant in his manner. Just a note to say how happy I am with the Truma motor mover. Your installer rang me the evening before installation and gave me a time of arrival. He was very skilfull in his workmanship and tidied up after the installation. He demonstrated the mover; firstly the control box inside the caravan, then all the workings of the system from outside the caravan. He demonstrated the handset, then gave me the handset for me to practice with. Within a few minutes I was taking my caravan out of the gateway and turning it around in a very narrow road with ease. The lady who took my first telephone call gave me the information I asked for and sent me details by post and also called me back as promised, a thing that does not happen very often.
